Southern Wales Leisure Breaks Campaign

This Campaign targets people interested in short breaks in a 3-hour driving distance of the region, including London and the West Midlands.

Through Direct Marketing and Advertising potential visitors are targeted to request more information on the region and its short breaks offers.  They can request further information on cycling, walking, horse riding, water sports, shopping, spoiling yourself, events and accommodation collected in fact sheets.  As the campaign progresses additional information will be added, including accommodation offers, and passed on to the database of contacts.

This information is kept up to date and is downloadable from the Southern Wales website, www.southernwales.co.uk., under short breaks.

It is a 2-year campaign that launched on 23rd September 2005 and will run until March 2007.  The Campaign is entering its third phase, which launches in September 2006.

The Campaign launched using direct mail, with a target of 2% response rate.  It managed to do 100% better than this with a 4.3% response rate! There are still some enquiries coming in which are being serviced via the short breaks option on the www.southernwales.com site. You can download the factsheets that were produced to support the campaign from the site.
