Short Break Marketing Funding
Capital Region Tourism (CRT) has £25,000 worth of funding to assist tourism businesses market and stimulate short breaks in S E Wales from 1st June 2006. Each applicant can apply for up to £4,000 in funding. The money is available on a first-come, first successfully accepted basis, so if you are interested, get your Expression of Interest Form in soon!
Quick Checklist
Applicants should:
- Be offering a short break based within CRT’s area: Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Torfaen and The Vale of Glamorgan.
- Be aiming to stimulate short break bookings from visitors beyond the borders of Wales.
- Be able to provide a thorough evaluation report (e.g. visitor numbers, financial value of visitors, breakdown of how CRT grant was spent)
- Aiming to use CRT funds to add value and develop beyond what currently exists. For example, in the case of existing packages, funds are not designed to enable brochure reprints to take place if there is no attempt to innovate or advance the product on offer. In the case of new packages, there should be an attempt to offer a creative, fresh approach.
Please be aware that there is a deadline for Expressions of Interest – 15 September 2006.

- Expressions of Interest will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis.
- You can apply for any amount up to a maximum of £4,000. Once the total successful applications total £25 the funding opportunity will close.
- You may be asked additional questions to further outline what you are trying to achieve.
- CRT would prefer to receive Expressions of Interest via e-mail.
